Between 1993 and 1998 many Stratocasters characterized by a Black Logo were made in Mexico or assembled in the USA.

Fender black label strat )I purchased from guitar center it was listed as a 1996 fender standard Stratocaster . I'm reading that some of these are really squire's, and some are traditional .
