This adapter connects to our 20' adapter-ready power cable so you can power the Planar/Autoterm portable diesel heater from a cigarette lighter or power port socket. NOTE: We do not recommend this adapter as the best choice for powering the Planar heaters.  They are not very power efficient and they can be accidentally unplugged very easily.  Also, most portable batteries only provide 10 amps to the cigarette socket, which is not enough to power the heater during startup and shutdown. If you are going to use this adapter, make sure it stays firmly in the socket.  If you're plugging it into a vehicle, you are responsible to ensure the wire to the socket is thick enough to provide the power the heater requires.  If you are plugging it into portable battery or solar generator, you are responsible to make sure it supplies at least 15 amps. If your socket only puts out 10 amps or less, one option is to purchase an AC to DC converter like this one and use it in conjunction with this adapter, plugging the converter into an AC socket in order to supply the required amperage to the heater. IF POWER IS LOST TO THE HEATER WHILE RUNNING, DAMAGE TO THE HEATER CAN OCCUR.
