lt;p><b><strong> Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>&nbsp;You are looking at an early Astatic DN-HZ from the 1940's with it's riveted aluminum Astatic badge and comes complete with it's original F-11 adapter shown. This was a very good quality "general purpose" Dynamic microphone and was an affordable alternative to some of the more sophisticated dynamic cardioid mics of that era. It just happens to make an excellent harp mic as well today with it's dirtier High Z tone.</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>&nbsp;A good choice for P.A work or any HAM radio set up.</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>&nbsp;Pic # 2 is from an old catalog I have showing the mics basic price and characteristics.&nbsp;</strong></b></p><p><b><strong> Pic # 3 is of Omar Bradley using this very model at a conference. These mics have a classic "rockabilly" sound that many musicians and harmonica players are looking for today. It can be used for just about any live event.</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>&nbsp;This DN-HZ model had that industrial look that was very popular in the 1940's to 1950's before the design lost appeal and was eventually phased out. Far more practical in design and less flashy. The 2nd generation DN-HZ had a more elegant look to it.&nbsp;</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;This unit has been thoroughly tested and cleaned. As you can see it has good overall original paint as well despite the physical wear. There are some scratches, paint loss and a few spots of discoloration. The black screen is free of any holes or rips. There is a subtle dent in the front grill that is hard to see even up close but it's there. The chrome is very nice with zero pitting. Joint mechanism works&nbsp;nicely and allows for a smooth sliding adjustment. The Astatic badge looks excellent and completely legible.</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>&nbsp;The Astatic F-11 adapter is in great shape as well and is needed to operate the mic. Comes with standard male 1/4 inch end connector for use with most modern audio equipment. The cable is a short 7 feet in length.
