For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1948 Parker 51 Fountain Pen & Pencil Set with Original Box in the hard-to-find Plum Color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition. I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, and hood. I have replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized one. Hand cleaned the Cap & Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring, 14K Parker NIB, and the Aerometric Filling Body. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen & pencil and to protect the celluloid. This Parker 51 is Fullsize and measures 5 1/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The Parker 51

The Parker 51 Aerometric Pencil measures 5 1/4 inches in length This fountain pen & pencil cap, barrel, and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, dings, dents, cracks, or repairs. The Lustraloy Caps has the Split Arrow Clip that is in perfect condition - no dings or dents. The cap secures to the barrel snugly. The Caps are stamped, PARKER on the cap lip. The barrels is stamped clean and crisp with, Made in U.S.A. with date code for 1948 in the 4th Quarter. I have tested the Aerometric filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill full in roughly 6 to 9 presses. This set comes with the Parker 51 Aerometric Injector Pencil which propels lead as it should. The Parker NIB is a date matching 1948 - 14K Medium Nib and writes smoothly The actual 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .72mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures .65mm to .74mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink. This Parker 51 Fountain Pen and Pencil Set comes with the original Parker 51 Box that is in good condition. The interior of the box displays some wear with a very minor amount of ink stain. The elastic banding/cords have lost all the stretch but are intact. This is one of those vintage Parker 51 Fountain Pens & Pencil Sets you don't always get a chance to secure in your collection in the Plum color. The condition of the set is amazing with frosty white ding/dent-free caps. I would consider this Parker to be in Near Mint to Mint Condition. It is certainly ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
