Dog owners demonstrate against dog laws at the Parliament Square on December 3, 2016 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The law prohibits 13 "dangerous" races and cross-breeds, and demands reverse burden of proof in terms of no genes from the prohibition list. The protestors demanded that the reverse burden of proof is to be taken out of the legislation, as they argue that valid analytical means for this proof are non-existent and they demand a "dog owner license" to replace the prohibition list. The problems of "dangerous dogs" are not the dogs, but the owners, they argue. The specific reasons for the nationwide demonstrations are two dogs - Frigg and Marley - which have been in an animals' home for two years and it has been possible to prove whether or not their genes originate from a dog on the prohibition list. However, a Danish court ruled November 15 that the two dogs must be put down. The ruling was based upon the dogs look and behavior and concluded: There are " Fair reasons to assume that the dogs could be included by the prohibition".
